Book Jacket for Wrestling’s 101 Strangest Matches. This 192 page A5 portrait hardback book was produced for PITCH Publishing in 2010. This was SUCH a joy to work on, I was given the copy, 50 or so images and total creative freedom. We decided to make it look like a tatty, blood-stained sports journalists notebook – lots of complex photoshop montage, with bits of tape, film strip, trading cards, torn scraps, polaroids, news cuttings, stickers etc. We also added ‘categories’ to each entry from a list of 24 making icon-like ‘rubber-stamps’ for each. The end result was a glorious, yet congruent mish-mash and I consider it to be amongst my best work to date.
The Daily Record said: ‘It’s great toilet reading, even if you’re not much of a wrestling fan.’ and I really don’t think that I could ask for much more than that.
PITCH Publishing have been repeat clients for Luke Jefford and Associates since 2003 across an selection of publications requiring creative design.
